Comments by coaches of national teams Russia and Germany
Alexander Epifanov – head coach of national team Germany
- I have already told that national team Germany was lucky to play in 1/4 with national team Russia. Last year we played with national team Sweden. My team was lucky to play since players needed to feel this speed, this movement. This is a good school. There are young guys 16-17 years old who should experience everything. It worked out. The team didn't have a set-up to stand and defend. The bandy in Russia is offensive with the use of patterns that's why there are always chances to counter-attack. And, indeed, there were several brilliant opportunities to counter-attack but, of course, finishing was lacking slightly. But guys were playing to the best of their ability, well done.
Mikhail Yuriev – Head coach of national team Russia
- The breach which was in the history of games-based sport is now filled: probably, Russia and Germany have never played only bandy. We finally meet on the World championship. As for the match, probably, the difference in level is so far great. It is clear that national team Germany make first steps in group A. I hope that year by year they will be getting better and better. We, of course, to greater extent were bearing tomorrow's semi-final match in mind that's why we considered playing with Germany as preparation.
- Alan Dzhusoev was on the line-up. Why didn't we see him on the ice?
- Alan was on the ice from the beginning but got minor injury and leaf the ice.
- Eight rink players in the second half. Why did you decide to play so?
- I will not comment it, I'll just say that it is permitted therefore we decided to leave only that number of players. There was no point of keeping more.
- How serious is Dzhusoev injury?
- I told that he has a minor injury. We just kept from dramatizing, the probability of 99.9 percent that tomorrow he will be playing. Just kept from dramatizing since the injury disturbs during the entire championship, and today it happened for some reason abruptly.
